Mrs. Fred Winkel, nee Emilie Anna Feldt, passed away Wed. in the Town of Schleswig. The deceased was the daughter of the late Daniel and Fredericka Feldt, and was born in the Town of Schleswig on Feb 4, 1868m where she grew to womanhood. On Nov 17, 1889, she was married to Fred Winkel, of Howards Grove, by the Rev. Vogt. For some time they lived with Mr Winkel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Winkel, later moving to Sheboygan. IN the year 1895, they moved to the Town of Schleswig and bought the farm from Mrs. Winkel's parents, where they have resided since.
Seven children were born of this union, one daughter Ida, preceding her mother in death 17 years ago. Survivors besides her husband are the following children: Mrs. William (Linda) Witte, of Rockville; Mrs Alvin (Hattie) Salzmann and Mrs Arthur (Meta) Thielke, of Louis Corners; and Mrs Walter (Viola) Klemme, of this city; and Arno and Hugh Winkel; 14 grandchildren; 1 sister Mrs. Herman Stueven, of New Holstein; and 1 brother August Feldt of Casade.
Member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, and burial in adjoining church cemetery.
