Willis R. Johnson, 89, of Camden, Ohio died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Eaton, Ohio to Lewis and Clara (Rumley) Johnson. He was retired from farming and the U.S. Post Office in Camden. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Roberta J. (Slater) Johnson who died in 1979 and his second wife, Teresa (Noe) Johnson who died in 1999; three brothers, Clarence, Robert and Charles Johnson, five sisters Marie Johnson, Ethel Stevens, Mabel Campbell, Grace Gardner and Doris Sanders.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia L. (Frank) House, Camden, and Jan K. Danner, Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mark House, Jason House and Laura House; one sister, Louise Paxson, Fort Myers, Fla., nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 229 Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, with Robert Spitler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Camden Emergency Squad, P.0. Box 85, Camden, OH 45311. Girton-SchmidtBoucher Funeral Home, Eaton, is in charge of arrangements.
