Alvin C. Eisele, 84, of Monticello, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 11, 1938 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Edward and Ruby (Denham) Eisele. Alvin attended Mt. Ayr School.

Alvin was a skilled plumber and handyman who also worked for Miller Plumbing and Heating for several years.

He enjoyed sitting on his front porch drinking a Pepsi, smoking his cigarette, and waving at passing cars. He always had to have the best garden of all the neighbors. Alvin loved splitting wood and tinkering in the garage, especially on old tractors. He had a kind heart and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need; Alvin truly was the neighborhood handyman.

Surviving are his children, Kym Landi of Monticello, Teresa Conley of Monticello, James Eisele (Tracy) of Tennessee, Molly Eisele of Star City, Samantha Eisele (Scott) of Delphi and Jennifer McCorkle of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and his siblings, Martha, Edith, Charlene, Anna Mae, Naomi, Harold, Bud and George.

Preceding him in death with his parents are his siblings, Marvin, Samuel, and Rosella and a great-grandson, Jeremy Pugh.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon; Pastors Don and Mark Newman to officiate. Interment to follow in the Monon Chapel Cemetery.
