A graveside service for Clairece "Nanny B" Brown, 89, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville, with Pastor Danny Sandifer officiating.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

She was born on April 6, 1934, to Louie and Verna Lee Davenport in Dialville and passed away on May 29, 2023.

Nanny B began her working career at Holcomb Candy Kitchen and later became a brazer at Astro Air in Jacksonville.

She enjoyed keeping her yard looking lovely, cooking southern meals for her loved ones and was a strong woman of faith in our Lord.

Nanny B was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, W.T. "Monk" Brown; brothers, L.D., Bobby, Edward, and Donnie; sisters, Pauline Dominick, Norma Hoffman, Flora Jean Mendez, and Carolyn Sides.

Left to cherish Nanny B's memory are her daughters, Debbie Barker, Judy Dunning, and Brenda Brown, all of Jacksonville. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Shane Stanfield and wife Kristi, and Misty Hagerman and husband Kevin; and 6 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Maddy, Bailee, Kenzi, Hannah, and Brooklyn.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Davenport, Brian Scruggs, Greg Compton, Ray Bowman, Kevin Hagerman, and Jerry Brown.

Honorary pallbearers are Kolton Hawkins, Kobe Borchardt, and Dale Davenport.
