Phillip Maurice Osborne, Transfer, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, in Trinity Living Center, Grove City, after a brief illness. He was 72.
Mr. Osborne was born on Saturday, May 4, 1935, in Clark to Otis and Nellie Hawthorne Osborne.
He was a graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Class of 1953.
Mr. Osborne worked as a journeyman carpenter for 40 years for Local 268 of the Carpenter's Union in Sharon, retiring in 1997. He served as a past trustee of Local 268 United Brotherhood of Carpenter and Joiners of America.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as a FT63 in submarine service from 1955-62 during peacetime.
As a member for 22 years of Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church in Pymatuning Township, he sang in the church choir. He also belonged to the Men's Bowling League at Reynolds.
His wife, the former Esther Ann Willaman, whom he married Aug. 19, 1955, survives in Transfer.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Dari Lynne and her husband Rich Norman, Greenwich, N.Y.; Karen Eve Osborne, Transfer; and Jill Ann and her husband Paul Dunn, Humble, Texas; and two sons, Jeffrey Wyatt Osborne and his wife Patty, Pittsburgh; and Mark Steven Osborne and his wife Kathy, Transfer.
He also leaves: two sisters, Mary Jane and her husband David Cusick, Wheatland; and June Englebaugh, Vienna, Ohio; two brothers, Hugh Osborne and his wife Grace, Sharpsville; and James Osborne and his wife Linda, Hermitage; and 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association Inc., Box 451429, Atlanta, GA 31145-9429.
