Born March 10, 1930 in Boise, Idaho, son of Alma Robertson Tilley and Ella Lucille Harris. Married Berwyn Freer on Jan. 12, 1951 in the Logan Temple . Dad's life of love and service can be described in words: great love of family, a true friend, legacy of learning, humor, kindness, passion for family history and temple work, playing pinochle, barbeques, laughter, generosity, love of books, optimist in the face of adversity, faith, hope, charity, student of Scriptures, patriot, courage, disciple of Jesus Christ. Received a Bachelors Degree in economics and business; and a Law Degree. Loved his Country. Served as an Army Officer in the Korean War. General Manager of Souvall Brothers and Alta Industries. Owner and President of Salt Lake Hardware Company. Served faithfully in various church positions: LDS Bishop, Stake Presidency and Patriarch. Served with his sweetheart in the Salt Lake Temple Square Mission Presidency.
He is survived by daughters, Shawna (Gary) Core, Deborah (Bruce) Lloyd, Sandra (Randy) Rigby; and son David (Breana) Tilley; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Rees, Charleen Dunn Wright, and brother Keith Tilley. Preceded in death by wife, Berwyn; sons, Craig and Steven; parents; six siblings; granddaughter, Alycia Core; two great-grandchildren, Emily, and Tyler Booth.
Funeral Services will be held Tues. March 25th at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Steed Creek Stake Center, 347 South 200 West, Farmington. Viewings on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington and 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to Services. Interment: Farmington City Cemetery.
