Clyde Adams, 76 of Guymon, Oklahoma passed away on March 20, 2008 at St. Francis-Via Christi in Wichita from injuries received in a farm accident.

These are the words that Clyde wrote about his life.

"I was born April 8, 1931, to Elmer and Tressie Adams. I attended a county school "Lemon" 6 miles north 2 miles west and 1 mile north of the Baptist Church in Hooker for grades 1 through 8, then to Hooker High where I graduated with the class of 1950.

I married Clara Elsie Witt December 27, 1956. To this union 5 daughters were born. Tina in 1959, Tila in 1960, Tisa in 1963, Tifany in 1969 and Tara in 1976.

We spent the first 10 years of our marriage on the Lawrence Mueller farm, 5 miles north and 2 ? miles west of the Baptist Church in Hooker. In the spring of 1966 we purchased a farm 4 ? miles east of Keyes, Oklahoma. We moved there in August of 1966 and began farming and ranching. Clara lost a battle with cancer in April 1992, but I continued to farm and ranch there until I retired in 1997. I loved Cimarron County and farming.

I married Elese Stevens February 21, 1998. We lived on her farm until April of 1999 when we purchased a home in Guymon, Oklahoma and moved there. We had 10 wonderful years together.

I am survived by my wife Elese, my daughters, Tina, and husband Randy Hinds of Guymon, Tila and husband R.B. Dunn of Two Buttes, Colorado, Tisa and husband Tim Hanvey of Keyes, Tif and husband Jason Rickman of Keyes, and Tara Adams of Wooster, Ohio; two Stepsons, Lloyd Stevens and wife Jackie of Tyrone, Brad Stevens and wife Mendy of Tyrone, one step daughter Rita Thomas of Tyrone and fourteen grandchildren: Tayla and Clare Dunn, Emalee, Elli, Estee, and Teague Hanvey, Wrangler, Canyon, and Tommye Rickman, Rob Stevens, Nick and Shaley Thomas, Brooklyn and Braden Stevens; two great grandchildren Kaysen and Havynn Stevens; one sister JoEllen and husband Robert Stevens of Bernice, Louisiana, one brother Claude Adams and wife Alice of Hooker, Oklahoma; three sisters in law, Althea Hamlin of Liberal, Kansas, Anna Mayer and husband Lewis of Guymon, Earlene Witt of Hooker, and Nelda Witt of Flagler, Colorado; two brothers in law, Walt Witt and wife Arthena of Flagler, Colorado, Max Hitchcock and wife Ruby of Tyrone, and several nephews and nieces.

I was preceded in death by my mother in August 1959, my dad in April 1977, my wife Clara in April 1992, brother in law Bill Witt in September 1997, my half brother Duane Hamlin in August 2002, a sister in law Jean Witt in August 2002, brother in law Hank Witt in July 2005, Vonnie Weber in June 2007, brother in law Jim Witt in February 2008."

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Church of Christ in Hooker, Oklahoma with Casey LaValley officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Willowbar Cemetery near Keyes, Oklahoma, directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
