Mr. Cooper was born in Hampshire county, Va., and was the son of the late Jacob and Anna Cooper. He resided in Virginia until 26 years old, when he married Miss Martha Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Horn. He resided in Virginia for four years after his marriage and then removed to Pana, where he was engaged in the florist business for eighteen years. He then went to Edinburg, where he engaged in the nursery business for eighteen years. For the last two years he had resided in this city, having retired from active business.
Decedent is survived by his wife and one son, J. W. Cooper, and two grandchildren, Hazel and Helen Cooper. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 11-10-1911
