Pauline Wester, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Monday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 p.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
Born Jewel Pauline Gabbard in Peggs, Okla., Pauline spent a lifetime loving and caring for her family. In 1956, after her children were grown, Pauline went to work for Monnig's Department Store. She rose to the position of ladies' sportswear buyer, and enjoyed a rewarding career from which she retired in 1989.
She and her husband, Cecil, were married for 65 years. After his death in 2005, Pauline resided in an assisted living facility.
The family would like to express its appreciation to the director and staff of Alterra Sterling House in North Richland Hills for the wonderful care and loving atmosphere in which Nana spent her final years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wester, and her grandson, Chad Blevins.
Survivors: Her daughter, Dee Blevins; son, Cecil A. Wester Jr.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Imogene Spencer and Billye Foster; brothers, Bob Gabbard and Ted Gabbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
