Mrs. Alma Carey, 96, formerly of Charleston Township, passed away Tuesday morning in a Kalamazoo Hospital. She has been ill for several years. Funeral services will be held from the Burk and Hoag Funeral Home in Galesburg on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. Wesley Oldt officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charleston Township. Mrs. Carey was born in 1863 the daughter of John C. and Kathryn (Cook) Pierce. She had lived in Charleston Township most of her life. Her husband, Frank Carey, passed away in 1955. She is survived by one son, Glenn Carey of Lyon Manor, Mich., two brothers, Emmett Pierce of Galesburg and Bently Pierce of Kalamazoo and three grandchildren.
