Raised in Palisades Park, NJ, later Frances had a successful career in performing arts as a dancer in New York where she met fellow performer Hal Linden. After the first meeting in 1955, while both participated in a summer stock production, the couple eventually tied the knot on April 13, 1958. Within a few years, Francis started a family, deciding to give up her profession, and focus on raising her family. Frances and Hal produced four children, three daughters and a son, -Nora Kathryn Linden, Ian Martin Linden, Jennifer Dru Linden, and Amelia Christine Linden.
