Death Of Former Annapolitan. Mr. J. Thomas Smith, who was for more than thirty years cashier of the National Bank of Baltimore, died at his residence in that city on Saturday evening, in the eighty fourth year of his age. He had been ailing since June, and gradually grew weaker from the infirmities of age until his death. His funeral is to take place on Wednesday morning from his late residence and the services will be conducted by the Rev. L. A. Ferris, pastor of Mount Vernon Place Methodist Episcopal Church, Baltimore. The interment will be in Greenmount. Mr. Smith was a native of Annapolis, and was born February 15th, 1818. He was educated here in the schools and at St. John's College. When a young man he went to Baltimore and took a clerkship in a mercantile house. Mr. Smith was a widower, his wife having died last winter. He leaves four daughters, one of whom is married, but no other children.
