Wylie, TX resident Gracie Zimmerman, 90, was surrounded by her family as she passed from this life into Heaven on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Lakepointe Medical Center in Rowlett, TX after a brief illness.
Gracie was the forth daughter born to William "Hodd" & Estella Steward on March 3, 1918 in Esterville, Iowa. She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, sisters and brother-in-laws Irene & Allen Broas, Dollie & Roy McAffee, Margaret & Warren Barber, brother Merle Steward, and granddaughter Scarlett Grace Streetman.
Gracie's spirit radiated through her kindness, thoughtfulness, courage and strength. She lives on in the hearts and through the lives of those she loved dearly and those who loved her deeply, her husband of 45 years, George Zimmerman, a man whose love and gentle care giving never wavered; her daughters and son-in-laws Beverly & Harvey Hicks of Grants Pass, OR; Patty McDowell & Harry Streetman of Dallas, TX; sons Kenneth Zimmerman of Dallas, TX, Junior Bodine of Minnesota, daughter Shirley Anne Snyder, niece Vineta Stewart and cousins Stacey & Becky Stewart of Mineola, TX, cousins Verlyn & June LeVan of Minnesota, many Grandchildren and Great Children across the United States who were the joy of her life, including Tabitha & Kameron Wainscott and Samuel Streetman who live in the Dallas area close to her, and countless friends and extended family members.
Flowers are welcome but as a tribute to our cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, we ask you to spend time with those you love and extend a kind word or gesture that will leave a lifelong impression.
Please join us as we share pictures and stories of Gracie's life during a Viewing on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Rooms A & B and for a final service in Restland's Wildwood Chapel (on the Westside of Restland Memorial Park) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2008.
