KATIE BOOTHE OBITUARY
BOOTHE, Katie Mae Katie Boothe was born February 18, 1928 in Dallas Texas to John Jefferson and Elizabeth Joplin Boothe. She died November 21, 2014 following a brief illness. After graduating from East Texas Baptist College, Katie taught school for 40 years, first as a public school teacher in Cedar Bayou, then EI Paso school system where her sisters Elizabeth and Ola were already teaching. After 30 years in EI Paso, Katie returned home to Dallas, and her membership of early childhood, Pleasant View Baptist Church. Katie and Elizabeth organized and operated Pleasant View Christian School until they retired after 20 years. For the most part of her adult Christian life Katie has served God in various church activities, teaching children and adults. Her Christian life has been spent influencing people, especially children, in the cause of Christ. Katie and sister Elizabeth made two missionary trips to Brazil, teaching and giving personal testimony. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church for many years until the church recently disbanded. Her church activities more recently have been at Second Baptist Church, Dallas Texas. Katie is survived by three sisters and their spouses, Ola Boothe Miller and Fred Miller, Doris Boothe, Snell and Luther Snell. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, and numerous friends. The pallbearers will be her great nephews Winston, Teddy, and Alex Booth, and Josh and Jacob Oliver. Services will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel at 3:00 PM on November 25, 2014 with visitation one hour prior.
