Born in Reading, Carol was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth (Rhoads) Angstadt. She was the oldest of three girls and is survived by sister Cheryl Degler, wife of Jeff Degler of West Lawn; preceded in death by sister Sandra Keiser.
Carol was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School, a 1962 graduate of Bryland School of Beauty with her cosmetology license, and a graduate of Temple University with a degree in vocational education. Carol went on to be a cosmetology teacher at Bryland School of Beauty until 1972 when she opened her own beauty shop in Reading with her sister Cheryl. Carol went on to teach at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center for 25 years until her retirement in 2009. Carol had a passion for teaching and loved her students and seeing them succeed in their chosen professions. Carol was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kutztown. Carol loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting in her free time.
Carol is survived by sons; Eric T. Diehl of Deer Lake, Jared D. husband of Elizabeth (Wonderly) Diehl of Mertztown, daughter Michele M. Diehl of Kutztown, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Colin, Carter, Justin, great grandchildren; Bentley and Braelynn.
Services will be held Thursday June 1, 2023, in the Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc.. Visitation with the family will be from 10 am to 11 am, followed by the service at 11 am and interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.
