William F. Rohde, 83, of R. 2, Sheboygan, died today following a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Sheboygan on Oct. 21, 1884, a son of the late William and Wilhelmina Rohde, he attended district grade school and Trinity Lutheran School and was confirmed at Trinity Church.
Miss Hertha Damrow of the Town of Sheboygan Falls at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Mohrsville. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1964. They resided on a farm in the Town of Sheboygan, Mr. Rohde retired from farming in 1957. He had also done mason work in the township. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors, besides his wife, are a son, William A. Rohde, Town of Sheboygan Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Al (Wilma) Dimmer, Town of Port Washington, Mrs. Alton (Bernice) Klein, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Roland (Lorraine) Brendel, Town of Mosel; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ervin, Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Hehling and Mrs. Meta Mercier, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Lydia Specht, Town of Sheboygan. Two grandchildren, a sister and five brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Karl Schulz, pastor emeritos of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 4 p.m. Monday.
