Leonard L. Becker Sr., 99, formerly of 3544 Gerry Levant Rd., Falconer died at 1:15 a.m. Monday (March 17, 2008) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A life long area resident he was born January 11, 1909 in the Town of Poland, the son of the late Lewis and Ella Walrod Becker.
Leonard was a graduate of Falconer High School and prior to retirement was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier in Falconer. Leonard was a master carpenter building every home that he and his wife lived in and assisted may other people in the construction of their home. Leonard enjoyed boat building and was also an avid life long traveler and camper crossing the United States numerous times.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter; Leonard L. Becker Jr., of Jamestown, Jon Becker of Richmond, Virginia, Mary Lamb of Port Charlotte, Florida, eight grandchildren; Judy Nomes, Julie Millward, Nancy Galletts, Donna Becker, Robert Becker, Charles Lamb, Michael Lamb, James Lamb and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Dahlgren Becker whom he married March 29, 1929 in Gowanda, who died March 27, 1995, three brothers Albert, Ralph and Raymond Becker. two great grandchildren; Joshua Thomas and Katie Lynn Millward.
