Carl W. Adams, 80, of West Marion St., Mishawaka, IN, passed away following an illness at 2:45pm Monday, Aug. 18 in Countryside Place, Mishawaka. He was born March 21, 1923 in Mishawaka to Truman Glenn Adams and Maude Ellen (Gerard) Adams, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 24, 1948 in Mishawaka, he married the former Lulu Mae Mull, who died in November 1996. Mr. Adams had retired from the Bendix Corp. in 1984 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the DAV of South Bend, IN, and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Adams was known locally as a marathon runner for several charities. He was an amateur artist and also competed at table tennis at the Battell Center. He was survived by his children, Marsha D. Ernest, Kathy S. Lawson and Barry D. Adams, all of Mishawaka; his sisters Margaret L. Griffy of Deming, NM, and Dorothy P. Putz of Mishawaka; and by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North in Mishawaka.
