Maude Ellen Adams, 64, of 535 W. Broadway, died at St. Joseph's Hospital. She had been ill only one week. Mrs. Adams was born in Bourbon and moved to Mishawaka 50 years ago. As Maude E. Gerard, she ws married to Truman Glenn Adams in St. Joseph, Mich. June 16, 1917. He survived along with two sons, Carl Wesley Adams of Mishawaka and Dale Glenn Adams of Dowagiac, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Grisez of Chula Vista, CA, Mrs. Dorothy Putz of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Florence Sullivan of Morgan Hill, CA.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, William O. Gerard of Mishawaka and Sherman Gerard of Etna Green, IN., and three sisters, Mrs. Asa Snyder of Niles, MI, Mrs. Howard Claxton of Mishawaka and Mrs. Edward Hickman of Elmira, NY. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services were at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ernest H. Scott, assoc. pastor of the First Baptist Church of South Bend officiated.
