Gladys F. "Faye" Cunningham, 86, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born January 10, 1937, in Jackson, to Elbert and Anna Brotherton Masters. She and Lane Cunningham were married May 30, 1977. They had been married 39 years when Lane passed away January 12, 2017.
Faye was a graduate of Jackson High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing. She worked for the late Dr. William "Bill" Seabaugh, and Chaffee Nursing Center. She and Lane briefly lived in Georgia, where she also worked as a nurse. Upon returning to Jackson, she again worked for Dr. Seabaugh and Chaffee Nursing Center and retired from SADI.
Faye enjoyed boating and lake activities, and her family has many fond memories of times spent on Lake Wappapello.
Loving survivors include Shane Sinn, a nephew who Faye raised as a son; three siblings, Mary Lou McDowell, Karen Sinn Stevenson, and Ethel Weller all of Jackson; nephews and nieces: Kyle McDowell of Jackson; Travis Sinn and Kimberlee Adams of St. Louis; Bob Kinder of Jackson; Ed Kinder of LeMoore, California; Vickie Nordin Dumey of Chaffee, Missouri; and Stacy Cunningham Schott of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a niece, Mary Melissa McDowell.
Visitation is from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2023, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Deacon Mark Kiblinger will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 22, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
