Rev. George Edward McGalloway, SJ, 82, a member of the Jesuit Order for the last 60 years, died Saturday at St. Louis, Mo., of apparent heart attack. He retired to St. Louis two weeks ago from Trinidad, Colorado.

He engaged in parish work at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Trinidad and taught at the parochial school there for 25 years. He entered the Society of Jesus Aug. 22, 1913, went to Florissant, Mo., to enter the novitiate and was ordained a priest in 1926.

Father McGalloway celebrated his first solemn Mass at St. Michael's Church, Dotyville. Prior to his ordination he did considerable teaching in various universities around the nation.

He was born June 28, 1891, at Dotyville, the son of Peter and Mary Tuite McGalloway and was reared in the area. He attended high school in Fond du Lac, then enrolled at St. Lawrence Seminary, Mount Calvary, to begin his studies for the priesthood.

Father McGalloway then transferred to Marquette University, Milwaukee, where he made the decision to join the Jesuit Order. His golden jubilee in the order was celebrated at St. Michael's Church, Dotyville, in August 1963.

Surviving are a brother, John P. McGalloway Sr. of Fond du Lac; and a sister, Sister M. Felicia, SSM, of Ironton, Mo. Two brothers, William and Clement, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Costello and Miss Lucretia McGalloway, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Trinidad, Colorado.
