Ms. Dixie Louise Pelfrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma died September 20, 2003, in Tulsa. Aunt Dixie was 88 years, 9 months, and 17 days. She was born on December 3, 1914, in Abbott( Scott County), Arkansas to the late Walter and Rosie Plummer. Dixie married William Henry Pelfrey and was a retired employee of Sears and Roebuck in Tulsa. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; her father-and mother-in-laws: John and Beryle Pelfrey, her daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Bob Crump; brother-in-laws: Ed Pelfrey, Virgil Pelfrey, and infant twin boys Pelfrey; sister-in-law: America Griffith, Maxine Plummer; and Gladys Pelfrey; and her aunt and uncle.
She is survived by her beloved son Major(ret) William "Bill" Pelfrey and his wife: Catherine; her precious grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her brother: Kenneth Plummer; sister-in-laws: Thelma Brown of Mansfield, Arkansas, Wathena Castle of West Jefferson, Ohio, Bonnie and Ray Pelfrey of Huntsville, Alabama; her much loved nieces and nephews;and many dear friends.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the Southminister Presbyterian Church. Dr. William Carl officiated the services. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Jon Crump, Randy Crump, Bobby Crump, William H. Pelfrey Jr., Kevin Crump and her nephew: Keenneth "Kenny" Plummer.
