John Edmund Knopp, 91, passed away peacefully and received his heavenly reward May 9, 2023.

John was born in Fredericksburg, Texas to Paula Kott and Robert Knopp. He was the big brother of Roberta and Glen.

After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He retired after 22 years of service as a Chief Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, John earned his bachelor's degree in business at Texas Christian University. He spent the next 26 years working for the United States Postal Service.

John married his beloved Bettye in 1951, and they were married for 71 years. He was the father of four children: Robert, Paula, John Jr., and Mark.

John was a devoted Christian and member of All Saints Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, barbecuing, and making chili for his church. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and his sons, John Jr. and Mark.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye; son, Robert; daughter, Paula; sister, Roberta Wehmeyer and husband, Rubin; brother, Glen Treibs and wife, Peggy; grandchildren, James, Krystal, Christie, John, Daniel and Faith; and five great-grandchildren.
