Daniel "Danny" Raymond Nors has finished his work in this lifetime and met our Heavenly Father on May 15, 2023. He was born on August 25, 1952 in Waco, Texas to Daniel Nors and Leona Trlica Nors. He passed away at the age of 70 years in Bonham, Texas.

Danny was raised in Abbott, Texas and after graduating high school attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1974. Danny was overjoyed to have two children (Anna and Aaron) from his first marriage and he dearly loved them. Danny later met and married the love of his life, Alicia Stapleton, on May 13, 1995, in Richardson, Texas. They shared a wonderful life devoted to each other and were married for 28 years. In January 2000, they were blessed with beautiful twin daughters Rachel and Bethany.

Danny spent much of his time later in life supporting his twin daughters in their various activities; whether it was going to their athletic activities, theatrical or academic events, or working with them on mission trips, he was always there to support them despite a demanding work schedule. He was beaming with pride when they (and his future son-in-law) graduated from Texas A&M in May 2022.

Danny had the privilege and honor of joining the Richardson Police Department on December 26, 1984, and served as a patrol officer, field training officer, and detective before he was promoted. He retired at the rank of Sergeant in 2016, after serving for almost 32 years. He served as a volunteer and board member of the Four Corners Outreach Alliance food pantry. He served in various positions on the Administrative Council of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, where he was a long-time member and devoted servant. In his free time, you could often find him working at the church or taking care of his longhorns.

Danny was well known for his quick wit and storytelling. He could find humor in any situation, often of his own creation. He always had a kind word for others and was a mentor to many. His positive, enthusiastic attitude drew people to him. He never met a stranger, and if they wore a Texas Aggie ring, they became fast friends. He loved helping others, whether it was at work, for church, or in the community. As a police officer, he received numerous cards and letters of appreciation for his service.

Danny is survived by his wife, Alicia Nors of Trenton; daughter, Anna Lessard and husband Brandon of Florida; son, Aaron Nors of Sherman; daughter, Rachel Nors of Trenton; daughter, Bethany Link and husband Markus of Bryan/College Station; granddaughter, Ariel Merk and husband Kody, and grandson Reese Evans (USAF); brother, Eugene Nors and wife Mary Ann of West; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barbara Brem.

Funeral Services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, Trenton, Texas. Rev. Wayne Walters will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tommy Stapleton, Bill Stapleton, Justin Stapleton, Markus Link, Phillip Allison, and Jared Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eugene Nors, Aaron Nors and Ed Coleman. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery, Trenton, Texas. A visitation will be held 6-8 P.M., Friday May 19, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas.
