Services for Archie Arthur "Bud" Smith, 82, Ada, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Criswell Funeral Home, the Rev. Keith Burden conducting rites. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.

Mr. Smith died August 14, 1988 at a local hospital. He was born August 19, 1905 in Wolf Bayou, Arkansas, to John F. and Mary Elizabeth Treas Smith. He came to this area in 1909 from Arkansas. He was a Baptist, a farmer and had retired from U.S. Steel.

On Oct. 9, 1932, he married Alpha M. Keithley in Lula.

Survivors include his wife, Alpha, of the home; three daughters, Jean Bush, Mesa, Arizona, Myrene Brooks, Riverdale, California, and Jane Winn, Littleton, Colorado; three sons, John L. Smith, Oreville, Washington, Doyle C. Smith, Dewitt, Arkansas, and Dennis D. Smith, Scottsdale, Arizona; one sister, Alma "Babe" Kerr, Stonewall; one brother, Douglas "Hook" Smith, Phoenix, Arizona; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Gregg Bush, Oran Kerr, Bennie Smith, Don Kerr, Jimmy Brooks and Buck McNead.
