Andrew, 79, of St. Marys, died at 1:10 p.m., at the St. Marys Living Center.

He was born to John C. and Helen (Stefanak) Dixon.

Surviving are his companion, Mary Jane Miars, St. Marys; a son, Andrew Jr. (Melissa), Jacksonville, FL; four daughters, Louise (Gary) Monaghan, Uniontown, PA, Sheryl (Robert) Brand, Jacksonville, Sara (George) Hammermeister, Waynesville, and Patricia (Marc) Fullem, Bolingbrook, IL; a brother, Robert (Carol), Hot Springs, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Sullivan, Laguna Niguel, CA; a sister-in-law, Virginia Dixon, Hustonville, KY; and 10 grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, John Edward, and infant Richard; and a sister, Rosetta Clooney.

He spent his career as an educator, was an administrator, teacher and coach of football and basketball in several school districts throughout western Ohio. Following his retirement, he was a guard for Pinkerton Security. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Marys and was of Roman Catholic faith. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in education from the University of Dayton, and Ph.D. degree in education from Bowling Green State University.

Services are at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating.
