He was a former personnel executive and a member of Sarasota South Elks Lodge 2495. He was an Episcopalian. Survivors include his wife, Marie; his mother, Vivian of Sarasota; a son, Scott of Dallas; a sister, Andrea of Indianapolis; a brother, William of Durham, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
