Son of Scott C. Bobo and Avis E. Buchanan Bobo of Atlanta, GA. Married Frances Denman of Atlanta in 1939. They had five sons. Was declared 100% disabled by the Veterans Adm. and following retirement did volunteer work at the Atlanta VA hospital until his death. He died at Northside Hospital, which then was considered in Sandy Springs, but that area has since been annexed to greater Atlanta.
