LAURENS —Jarvis Alton "Peanut" Davis Jr., 68, of 6 Harts Court, a retired employee of Laurens Glass Co., husband of Frances Foster Davis, died Wednesday.
A native of Laurens County, born 7 Sept 1908, son of the late Henry R. and Eula Bagwell Davis, he was a member of St. James Methodist Church and Palmetto Lodge No. 19.
Surviving also are three sons, Billy Ray Davis of the US Air Force, stationed at Elgin AFB, FL, James Alton Davis of Laurens, and James Wilson Parson of Ora; a daughter, Mrs. James W. Smith of Laurens; four brothers, Robert, Lawrence, Raymond and Louie Davis of Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. Gary [Mary] Gibbs of Laurens and Mrs. W.E. [Alma] Reid of Fountain Inn; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 pm Friday at Kennedy Mortuary with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
