Light Hagan "Pid" Beecher, 76, who was injured February 19 in a wreck on US 1 died early this mornning at Appling General Hospital.

Mr. Beecher was a resident of Baxley. He was born in this county and was a prominent farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Branch Beecher, six daughters, Mrs. Otis Carter, Baxley, Mrs. J.E. Shadron, Brunswick, Mrs. Ernest Baxley, Baxley, Mrs. Morris Wolfson, Baxley, Mrs. Howell Brantley, Jacksonville, FL, and Judy Beecher, Jacksonville, FL.; four sons, Bernice, David L. and J. D. Beecher, all of Baxley, and Colon Beecher, Ludowici; one sister, Mrs. Lora Fennell, 23 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Spring Branch Church, conducted by the Rev. Braswell Carter and assisted by the Rev. Joe Branch and the Rev. Willie Beall of Hazlehurst. Burial will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Carl Baxley, Buddy Baxley, David Sellers, Floyd Beecher, Winton Branch and Clennie Branch. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Fowler White, J. M. Dunn, Hershel Sellers, Dr. M. E. Long, Frank Craven, Norwood Moody, Johnnie Willoughby, Seab Craven, Norman Overstreet, Nathan Finkelstein, Dr. H. C. McCrackin, George Vaughn, Bill Morris, E. L. McBride, Clarence McDaniel, Ed Davis, Cliff Branch, Jack Carter, W. F. Hutchinson, Roscoe Williams, Dr. J. T. Holt, and Jim Carter.
