David Cranston Griffin
Thursday 1st of December 1949 - Saturday 6th of May 2023
David Cranston Griffin, widower of Nancy B. Griffin (Debbie), passed away at his home on May 6, 2023. He was 73 years young.

David was known as "Dave" to his family and friends. Also as "Daddy Dave" to his granddaughters. He worked for many years as a Realtor in Lexington. Dave was well known for his unique sense of humor, quick wit, and the occasional prank.

Dave enjoyed NASCAR and was a lifelong lover of all forms of car racing. At an early age, he "borrowed" his unsuspecting dad's race car, went to the Bluegrass dragstrip, and won a great big trophy. He then had the unfortunate dilemma of figuring out how to hide it. (Hint: He was unsuccessful.)

Dave loved Halloween and was known to answer the door as Batman or Elvis. He loved to cook and enjoyed helping his son work a wood smoker. He also loved to travel, especially to the sunshine state of Florida. After he retired as a Realtor, he enjoyed long-distance chauffeuring for Gold Shield limo service, which allowed him an easy way to earn money and continue his love of traveling.

Dave was also an avid blood donor and encouraged everyone to donate.

He was generous, kind, and loving to all. He was always there for family and friends in need. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Jamie Griffin (Michelle); granddaughters, Kylee Griffin, Whitney Griffin, and Bailey Boone; sister, Linda Lynch (Larry), and a brother, Fred Griffin (Jody). In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Boone; his mother, Nola M. Griffin; and his father, William C. Griffin.

A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will begin at 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 13th at Milward – Southland located at 391 Southland Drive with Gavin Duerson officiating.
