WELLSVILLE - Mardella M. (Hyser) Detter, 88, of Wellsville, died Monday morning at Manor Care Health Services North in York. She was the wife of Frank L. Detter and the late Harry Lerew.

The service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cocklin Funer al Home Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Loganville. View ing will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the fu neral home.

Mrs. Detter was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Edward T. and Virgie M. Hyser.

She worked at the former Bayuk Cigars Inc. in York. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wellsville, Warrington Neighbors Club, Wellsville Fire Company and American Association of Retired Persons.

Mrs. Detter also is survived by a daughter, Dorothy J. Riley of York; a stepson, Keith L. Detter of Reedsville; three stepdaughters, Carolyn M. Schwartz of Columbia, Joan L. Null of Hanover and Beth A. Staub of Wellsville; 11 stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Weire of Mount Wolf and Leona Kattmyer of York.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas M. Shatto and the Rev. John Lehr.
