Marc Edmund Jones was a prolific writer for the majority of his life. In astrology, he is referred to as the Dean of American Astrology.
Before this, he was a well known writer, creating scripts for the early days of film. He even had a role in a film. That part of his legacy can be viewed at IMDB.
He was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1934. He received a PhD from Columbia University. He published over 900 lessons and many books on astrology, Sabian Symbols and more. He decided that it would be beneficial to use aspect patterns in astrology for better and more accurate results.
He was extremely busy as an author and lecturer, and was always in demand.
Marc consulted with Elsie May Wheeler, the clairvoyant for the imagery of words that he would use to create the Sabian Symbols that are still in use today. She channeled these for him in one day in 1925. He did not like the first version of the Sabian Symbols that he created, so he would continue to work on the project and refine it, releasing it to the public in 1953, the same year that Queen Elizabeth II was coronated.
His influence on modern American astrology and Sabian symbols is still felt to this day.
Married to Priscilla who preceded him in death, they never had any children.
