Axel was a rescue. He had spent the first 10 years of his life chained in someone's front yard. A compassionate soul would pass by and tend to his grooming needs until the *owner* said, 'just take him', which she, thankfully, did. I found him on an adopter's site and it was love at first sight. We drove across the state of Wisconsin to get him.

Axel was such a joyful little guy, and loved people (though God knows why). Just goes to prove how wonderfully forgiving and loving dogs really are.

He loved fried chicken, chewies, and his tennis balls, of which he found many at the park ( he had quite the collection)! He loved wading into the creek, and although he wasn't the greatest car passenger, he loved arriving at the many parks and trailheads for some fun!

Axel succumbed to melanoma cancer. He was a trooper and never showed his discomfort.

I love and miss you so very much, Baby Axel. Bailey, Shawnie, Delaney, and all our furbabies will meet you at Rainbow Bridge. Run free, and painless. I'll see you when I get there.
