Eunice L. Edwards, 90, a long-time resident of Pomona, passed away peacefully on March 14 in Pomona.
She was born on May 10, 1917, in Lanett, Alabama. Her family moved to California in 1928. Her parents and siblings all resided locally in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. Eunice graduated from Pomona High School in 1936 and attended one year of junior college in Pomona. She had several jobs before her marriage, one of which was for the Pomona Progress-Bulletin. She married her life-long partner, Bill, in 1943. They shared their lives for 64 years and were members of the Primitive Baptist Church. Eunice devoted her life to her husband, daughter and family and was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, William Edwards, 93, of Pomona, her daughter Carol (Tim) Hite of La Verne, her granddaughter Cathy (Al) Sides, of Claremont, her grandson Tom (Susie) Hite of Redlands, her great grandson Kenn y Sides of Claremont, and her sister Neva Little of Badger, California. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Russell, and Donald Tidwell, and one sister, Ruth McCormick.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Todd Memorial Chapel, 570 N. Garey Avenue in Pomona. Burial will be at Pomona Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation at Todd Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
