Nancy Jean Brewer, 72, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday afternoon, May 5, 2023, at her home. Nancy was born January 31, 1951, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Eugene E. Wallace and Lorine L. (Douglas) Wallace. She was a 1968 graduate of Joplin High School. Nancy married Kenneth E. Wilson on August 31, 1968, and to this union, two children were born. She then married Billy J. Brewer, Sr. on January 31, 1985; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2023. Nancy worked as a floral designer for Art Legg's Flowers in Joplin in the late 1970's and early 1980's. She was also a school bus driver for the Webb City R-7 School District for 15 years, and then the Carthage R-9 School District for 3 years, until leaving work in 2003 due to health reasons. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Carthage. Nancy loved spending her time volunteering and contributing information at the Powers Museum of Carthage and the Jasper County Records Department.

Survivors include her two sons, Michael Wilson (Candice), and Scott Wilson (Tessie); a grandson, Derek Wilson; two stepchildren, Tammy Reynolds (Ralph), and Bill Brewer, Jr.; 3 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
