Emerson R Jenkins, 82, 524 N Irving Ave., died Thursday at Wyoming Valley Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre, after an illness. His wife, the former Margaret Lipowitch, died in 1983.
Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late William andEdythe Bredbenner Jenkins. He was a salvage operator for Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. until his retirement in 1973. He served with the Army in World War II in the European Theater and was a member of Wilson Conklin Post 579 American Legion, Moscow.
Survivors include two sisters, Ann Hawthorne, Fairfax, VA., and Edythe Ollino, Wallingford, Conn.; one brother, William L., Scranton; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be on Monday at 10 a.m. from the Cox Funeral Home, 109 S. Main Ave. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Viewing, Sunday, 7 to 9 p.m.
