Jessie Clayton Honeycutt, a loving and adventurous man, passed away on the 4th day of May 2023, in Elkhart, Texas. At 69 years of age, the Lord called him home. He was born on the 13th day of February 1954 in Anderson County, Texas, to parents Arvel Douglas Honeycutt and Retha Barnes Honeycutt. Jessie was best known for his handy skills and passion for the outdoors.

Jessie was a proud 1972 graduate of Elkhart High School and a devoted member of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout his life, Jessie worked as a master carpenter, leaving a lasting impact on the homes and lives of those he worked with. His dedication to his craft and his ability to create beautiful, functional spaces were admired by all who knew him. Jessie's talent and expertise in carpentry were matched only by his love for his family and friends.

An avid outdoorsman, Jessie found great joy in hunting and fishing. He was often found exploring the beautiful landscapes of Texas. Jessie's adventurous spirit also led him to ride horses, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. His love for nature and the great outdoors was a testament to his appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the world around him.

Jessie's greatest treasure was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was known for hosting memorable barbeques, where his loved ones would gather to enjoy good food, laughter, and each other's company. Jessie's warm and loving nature made these gatherings a highlight for all who attended. Jessie's love and support were a constant source of strength and inspiration for his family. His legacy will live on through the beautiful spaces he created, the memories shared with his family and friends, and the love he had for the great outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Retha Honeycutt; first wife, Judy Starr; second wife, Anna Bice; third wife, Kaye "Momma K" Hillsman; and his brothers, David Honeycutt and Joe Honeycutt.

Jessie leaves behind his daughters, Jeanne Miles and Chad Malone, of Elkhart, Texas, Nicole Honeycutt, of Palestine, Texas; sons, Jessie Honeycutt, II and wife Kerri, of Elkhart, Texas, Clayton Honeycutt and wife Cheyanne, of Athens, Texas; brothers, Douglas Honeycutt and wife Jeanne, of Elkhart, Texas, and Jimmy Honeycutt, of Palestine, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, with one on-the-way, and numerous other family members and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 8th day of May 2023 at Rhone Funeral Home.

Funeral services to celebrate Jessie Honeycutt's life are to be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon, on Tuesday, the 9th day of May 2023 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Butch Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers during the service are Stacey Shear, Randal Honeycutt, Austin Miles, Braxton Miles, James Wilcher, and Jessie Honeycutt, II.
