Mr. Vance Witten Wells, 62, of 506 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, WV went to be with his Lord at St. Luke's Hospital in Bluefield following a brief illness. He was a widely know barber in Bluefield.
He was the son of John S Carter and Maude Marie Wells Carter and reared by his maternal grandfather Robert Clay Wells.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield. He was also a member of Harman Lodge 222 AF & AM.
Funeral services were held at Memorial Baptist Church. Wagner Funeral Home served the family.
Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jess S Gillispie, Robert Chrisman, Leslie Hunter, Sam Brookshire, C L
Shufflebarger, Paul Trenton, Raleigh Ashworth and L B Farley.
