Age 94, late of Lockport, Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Joliet, Vickie was a life long area resident.
A member of the Lockport VFW Post #5788 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lockport American Legion Post #18 Ladies Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph "Duke" Ballard, her parents Andrew and Helen (Thoman) Bazik, a brother and seven sisters.
Survived by sisters Gertrude Hamilton of WI and Lucille Brent of New Lenox. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Beautification Fund would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 am in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST., LOCKPORT with Fr. Jim Curtin officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation Monday 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
