Lewis, who resided at Marsh Road, Arden, Delaware, served as a Corporal, Company B, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fifth Army, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on August 8, 1941, prior to the war, in Trenton, New Jersey. He was noted as being Single, without dependents.

Lewis was "Killed In Action" in the Po River Valley, Italy when the tank he was on was destroyed by enemy action.

He had served in the Army for three years and eight months at the time of his death.

He was originally interred in Mirandola, Italy and was later repatriated here on June 24, 1949.

Son of Lewis Thomas, Sr. and Jane Whinnen Thomas.

He also has a " Cenotaph " in the Grubb Burying Ground, Arden, Delaware.
