Olympic rower. Kocerka competed in the 1952, 1956, and 1960 Summer Olympics and won bronze medals in the men's single sculls rowing events in 1952 and 1960. He also served as Poland's flag bearer in the years he medaled. He won a gold medal at the 1955 European Rowing Championships, won silver medals in the 1953 and 1954 games, and won bronze in 1956 and 1959. He was given the title "master of sports" in 1952. Kocerka later taught at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw.
