JoAnn Mary Meyer, age 76, daughter of Ruth (Neely) and Larry Kreienheder, was born on July 27, 1939 in Saint Louis, MO, and went peacefully home to be with our Lord on January 9, 2016, surrounded and comforted by her loving family.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Larry Kreienheder, and husband Roy William Meyer.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Son, Stephen Roy Meyer of Gladstone OR, Daughter, Christine Ann Nickels and Husband Ronnie Nickels of Raymondville MO, Grandson Aaron William Davis of Raymondville MO and soon to be granddaughter in law, Jessica Raye McCallister, Brothers, Bob Kreienheder and wife Pam of St. Louis MO and John Kreienheder and wife Karen of Booneville MO and sister in-law Ginny Brickey and husband Gene of O`Fallon MO, as well as numerous other family members.
JoAnn grew up in the St. Louis, MO area where she met the love of her life Roy Meyer. JoAnn married Roy on September 27, 1958. Roy and JoAnn moved to Raymondville MO in 1972 with their two children Steve and Chris and JoAnn has remained in the Raymondville area since 1972 where she has raised her family and developed many lifelong friends. JoAnn worked in the local banking industry serving her community as a bank teller in Houston and Raymondville, MO. and branch manager in Raymondville for over 40 years.
JoAnn was a member of Countryside Worship Church in Raymondville, MO under Pastor Rick Dixon. JoAnn received Christ as her Savior at a very young age and has remained faithful throughout the years to her church and community. JoAnn's life and actions were an inspiration to all of us. JoAnn was very active in the Church.
JoAnn, in her earlier years was an avid gardener and loved to can the vegetables she grew. JoAnn loved to travel and took trips and cruises to New Orleans, Mexico, Europe, Caribbean, and Alaska. JoAnn was very active and loved being a member of the Blue Heaven Club and Wild Bunco Bunch in Raymondville, MO. JoAnn also loved serving at the Raymondville Picnic with The Blue Heaven Club and was an active member of the Houston Bowling league. JoAnn also loved playing online interactive games with her friends such as Words With Friends and others. JoAnn loved birds and has a beautiful collection of miniature bird houses and bird decor. JoAnn has always loved animals and especially her current dog Molly and her kitty, Snickerdoodle, of which both are spoiled rotten.
JoAnn loved her family and friends. She always put everyone's needs before herself. It was truly the highlight of JoAnn's life to host many weekend and holiday events where family and friends congregated with good food, games, laughter, and life-long bonding. JoAnn created memories that will last a lifetime for all of us.
JoAnn was a true inspiration to all that were blessed to be part of her life. She loved her family, friends and Church. She will be missed, but the memories that we all have of JoAnn bring a warm heartfelt smile to our souls. The fact that she is in heaven with her Lord, husband, parents, relatives and friends is comforting to all of us. JoAnn is a true angel of GOD. JoAnn has earned her wings and is rejoicing in the presence of the One she has so long desired to meet.
