Mr. Thomas L. "Tinker" Young, 85, of 203 Hadley Rd. (Hempfield Twp.) Greenville, passed away at 2:45 PM, Thursday, June 21st, 2007 following an extended illness at White Cliff Nursing Home, (Hempfield Twp.) Greenville.

Mr. Young was born in Stoneboro, PA on July 4, 1921, the son of the late Edwin P. and Nellie (Connors) Young.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Sgt in WW II. He was an airplane and engine mechanic and earned the following decorations and citations: Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Theatre Service Medal, Asian-Pacific Theatre Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Victory Medal.

He loved tinkering around the garage and working on mechanical projects. He taught several family members and friends certain mechanical and industrial trades, which they were able to utilize throughout their careers.

He was the husband of Marie E. (Woodward) Young, who survives him of Greenville. They were married in August of 1945. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: A son, Rev. Edwin Young of Greenville and a brother, David Young of Tionesta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers: John Young, George Young, and Edwin "Teddy" Young; five sisters: Margaret "Peg" Anderson, Leah Burdette, Patricia MacAnallan, Lucille Reither, and Ellen Grasinger.

Arrangements remain incomplete and will be announced on Monday, June 25th by ANDREW H. OSBORNE III FUNERAL HOME, INC.

Funeral Service
Sat. July 7, 2007 , 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Cemetery

The Funeral Service will be held in the Cemetery Chapel, prior to burial with Military Honors.
