Naomi is the daughter of James Chafon Cook and Sarah Collis. She is a sister to John B, Nancy, Elimina, Mary "Polly", Jesse, Aaron, Elizabeth "Betsy", Jim, Susannah and Margaret Elizabeth.

Naomi married Daniel David "Doke" Hoyle and they are the parents of Margaret, Causey Minerva, Mary, Susannah, Sarah E, Alfred, Rebecca, Naoma Alice, Major and Frances Hoyle. They lived in Burke county.

Naomi Cook Hoyle was admitted to the asylum in 1887 and died here 27 years later of Heart Disease and La Grippe (influenza). Her children's death certificates give her maiden name.
