DEATH Of Their FATHER
Pahiatua Herald, 14 June 1907
The death occurred last night at his residence, Main-street, of Mr W. H. Armitage, one of our oldest settlers, at 64 years of age. Seventeen months ago next Sunday he had a paralytic stroke and had been confined to his bed ever since. With his wife and family, Mr Armitage had been a resident of Pahiatua for 17 years, coming here from Woodville, where he resided for about six years, prior to which time he lived in Canterbury, where he was well known and respected. During the past few days he had been a victim of asthma, an old complaint and which , no doubt, accelerated his death. Mrs Armitage, her two daughters and son, will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their great bereavement. The funeral takes place tomorrow at 2.30 p.m., and friends are requested to accept this intimation.

DEATH Of Their MOTHER
Pahiatua Herald, 17 May 1909
Mrs Armitage, whose condition was reported by us a few days ago to be causing her friends considerable anxiety, breathed her last on Saturday at Cambridge, in the Waikato district. On the previous Sunday, while out walking, the deceased lady was seized with paralysis and became so prostrated that her relatives were immediately summoned to her bedside. She leaves one son and two daughters. The late Mrs Armitage had a very kind disposition, which won for her a large circle of friends, by whom the news of her death will be received with great regret.
