Funeral services for Mr. Bill C. Moorehead, age 70, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 in the Vanderbilt Medical Center, conducted Sunday, May 14, 2006 in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial in Elora Cemetery.
Mr. Moorehead was a native of Lincoln County, worked on a riverboat as a cook, was a member of the Elora Baptist Church, an Army & Navy veteran and he enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Vernell Moorehead; grandchild: Kelsey Wright; parents: Robert E. & Eliza Moorehead; brothers: Robert, James, Ray, Don, Dillon, Glen & Charles Moorehead.
Survivors include 1 daughter: Sherry Wright of Verona, VA; 1 son: Billy S. Moorehead of Petersburg, TN; 5 grandchildren: Jeremy Moorehead, Crystal Moorehead, Andrea, Bobby & Bailey Wright; 4 great grandchildren: Samantha Moorehead, Carley Moorehead, Sterling Cash, Spencer Cash; 4 sisters: Vonnell Staton, Nellie Miller, Willa Jones, Juanita Stockbridge all of Lincoln County; 2 brothers: Jerry Moorehead & Dwight Moorehead both of Lincoln County.
