Mrs. Vera U. Wirtz, 71, of Gladwin, died Saturday following a long illness. Born in Irondale, Haliburton, Canada, on May 21, 1891, she had lived in Gladwin County 70, years. The former Vera Vannatter was married to Oscar Wirtz in Gladwin on August 15, 1908.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Doede, and Mrs. Larry Redman, of Midland; four gra ndchildren, Dennis and Sheryl Doede, and Bradley and Bryan Redman; four brothers, Dexter Vannatter, of Warren, Ernie Vannatter, of Houghton Lake, Alvia Vannatter, of Madison Heights, and Ray Vannatter, of Flint.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Gladwin R.L.D.S. Church with the Elder Harold McAllister officiating . Burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 10-24/1962 Column – 3 Page – 1.
