He was a native of Monroe County,Ky., a retired foreman for Anaconda Alduminum,a U. S. Navy World War 11 veteran and member of Cedar Springs Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a son,Danny Hugh McWherter, and a daughter,Vickie Lynn McWherter.
He is surviived by his wife, Mary Louise McWherter;two daughters,Connie Unger and Tammy Penner;two sons,Dennis McWherter, and Michael Baker;12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
