James Edward Massengill, 86, of Cleveland, TN, passed away April 26, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born July 21, 1936, to the late Edward Paul Massengill & Margaret Kathleen Massengill, in Cold Creek, TN, and of the Church of God faith. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Cassie Massengill.

Survived by his wife, Wanda Dickinson; sons, Wade Massengill, Allen Massengill, Aaron Massengill, and Erice Massengill; daughters, Faye Mason, Donna Bridges, Darlene Allen, Jeanette Massengill, Annette Bruks, and April Pena; siblings, Linda, Brenda, Margaret, Beverly Whiteside, Chucky Massengill, Ronnie Massengill, and Steve Massengill; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Companion Funeral Home, followed by the service in the chapel at 5:00 PM. Pastor Daniel White, officiating. Burial will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors.
